Something sparkling in the lush grass of Endor catches your eye. As you retrieve it, you realize that what you just picked up is quite a valuable discovery! Collectors of all levels and professions can earn a variety of rewards in Chapter 7 when they find all the pieces of many different collections scattered across the galaxy.
Starting Your Collection
Collectors are seeking new treasures that can be found on all planets in the galaxy. These objects are recent, prized discoveries, so existing items and enemies you have slain before Chapter 7 will not count toward completing a collection.
A collection begins when you come across a distinctive item, either in the environment around you or as loot dropped by a defeated creature. There are also treasure-seeking NPCs in certain parts of the galaxy that might be looking for someone to track down the particular valuables they're looking for.
Once you have started a collection, a system message will display and the Collections screen updates to show the progress of your treasure hunt.
Keeping Track
As the demand for rare items grew, collectors created a special device for keeping track of these unusual objects. The Collections tracking device clearly displays and organizes your collections. You can access the Collections screen in the Personal tab in the Character window.
The top of the screen shows the book for each collection you have started. Within each book there is at least one set, which can contain a number of collections. Click an icon at the top to see all sets and collections you have gathered items or kills for. The title of the book is shown at the top of the screen.
The name of each collection and the name of the first person in the galaxy to complete it are displayed above the list of collectable items. If the collection is still undiscovered, you might be the first one to gather all the pieces! Your name will always be recorded as the first to complete it, and no other collector in the galaxy will have the honor for that collection.
Items that are displayed in gray have not yet been gathered.
Types of Collections
A collection can come in a few different forms. Items across the planets can be picked up, crafted, and gathered from your enemies. Slain creatures can be counted as trophies. You can also continue to collect badges, which now have a whole new look!
Counting Kills
Defeating a certain number of enemies is known as a "kill count" collection. You may have to slay hundreds of creatures in order to earn this impressive achievement. If you're working on completing a kill count collection, a small meter will display under the icon to show your progress.
Items and Objects
Valuable items are scattered across all planets in the galaxy. When you spot an item that catches your eye, click on the object and a timer will appear. You will be completely visible and vulnerable as you search. You will need a few seconds to unearth your prize, so make sure no combatants are lurking nearby to interrupt your concentration.
When a collectable object is dropped by a defeated enemy, retrieve the item and it will be added to your inventory. You can use the radial menu to add your loot to a collection; these objects might begin a new collection or be added as a part of an existing one.
If you come across an item that you have already collected, instead of using the radial menu on the object, you can instead sell it to another eager collector through the Bazaar. Collection items have a separate category on the Bazaar to help treasure hunters quickly locate a missing item for sale.
Badges
In Chapter 7, earned badges have been updated with colorful art showing off your accomplishments.
When another player examines you, they can click the "Show Collections" button to not only see the badges you've won over the years, but also see the rest of the contents of your collection journal. New badges can also be earned by finishing a collection.
Rewards for Your Efforts
Badges are one reward that you might earn by finishing a collection, but there are many others to be won! In the Collections screen, a special icon is displayed to the right of each collectable item list. This is the reward for obtaining all of the items or kills in the collection.
A finished collection can reward combat, crafting, or entertainer experience to the lucky collector. Unique decorative items, such as plants or paintings, can also be granted for finding all of the items. Collectors' homes may be bursting at the seams with all of these new knickknacks, so packrats might be interested in completing a collection to earn more item storage in their structure.
New skills or abilities can also be earned by completing a collection. A Beast Master might even learn a new trick to show their pet, such as teaching the beast to dance and entertain!
Many exciting rewards will be yours for the collecting in Chapter 7! Keep your eyes peeled and get ready to make your permanent mark on the galaxy.
