sound trouble


hi everyone.

been having this problem awile now and its not really a issue but its getting kinda annoying.


this is my volume goes up and down every so often sometimes minutes other times seconds, and ofcourse this happens with out me touching the volume setting of the speakers or the volume setting in windows.

any idea's

i got a Soundblaster X-fi and all drivers are upto date.

sounds like you might have a card issue tbh.
mine used to keep wavering and I couldnt fix it, I think on mine the amplifier was knackered.

Does your PC have an alternate output jack? It might be that that is not wired properly or something?

its always in both games and music, although now i think of it i don't really notice it watching movies (linked throught TV) could simply be the speaker system got some old 5.1 systems.

aye, maybe the shielding has gone on your speakers then?

try it with headphones fomr your I-pod or something to check?

Just saw there are new drivers for the X-fi and i found this in the change log

*Resolves issue of volume mapping leading to very soft volume level in systems using Windows Vista with Service Pack 1.
*Resolves issue with distortion and noise occuring in systems with 4 GB of RAM or greater.

Ah ok
 Too bad i just gave my old receiver and speakers to my bro our i could try making some money on you :P

PS did you test with the headphones by useing the cards output (not front bay drive)

yes i used the card output at the back where notmally my speakers go.
