It's that time of year again

Sony Online Entertainment's Fan Faire 2008 is just around the corner! This August 13 th -17 th you'll have the chance to meet your fellow gamers in person (perhaps for the first time), as well as all the people who make and support the games you love to play!

Have you been just dying to meet the real Valara? Perhaps you'd like to talk to Blixtev about your home made lightsaber? SOE Fan Faire is your opportunity to do all of this and more.

What is SOE Fan Faire?

The SOE Fan Faire is an annual four day event that celebrates all of Sony Online Entertainment's games, their development/support teams, and of course, the players!

At SOE Fan Faire 2008, you will get the chance to meet all of the people 'behind the scenes' of your MMO, mingle with friends (even make new ones), and partake in all of the great Fan Faire festivities such as live quests, panel discussions, gaming competitions, hands on demos, new game previews, a silent auction, and parties** just to name a few!

Star Wars Galaxies Activities

Even if you went to last year's Fan Faire, you won't want to miss this one! There are new and exciting events planned for Star Wars Galaxies players and you will want to be sure that you and your friends are there to experience it all.

At Fan Faire, join the Star Wars Galaxies teams from SOE and LucasArts for "The Galactic Assembly", a two hour panel discussion on all things related to the game! The y will share new details about game-related subject matter with the attendees firsthand, including more exciting information about the Battle of Echo Base! It's a great opportunity to share your feedback, great ideas, and more.

A number of additional Star Wars Galaxies panels are also scheduled for Friday and Saturday during Fan Faire. The panels will cover a variety of topics related to the game's design and development, and will offer players the chance to interact firsthand with the development team regarding their professions, passions, and anything else they want to, in a number of casual discussions. Be sure to look for our special guests Yivvits and Mr. Bubble on stage during our podcast panel. They'll be on hand to discuss what it's like creating a podcast and offer you tips so you can do the same.

If you've ever wanted to go on an adventurous quest in real life, Fan Faire is your chance. You'll be able to take part in a Star Wars Galaxies live quest where you and your friends will have to combat a variety of fun puzzles and physical challenges head-on.

Teams are limited to ten, so start planning with your player association now! With teamwork, knowledge of Star Wars Galaxies, and a bit of skill, you and your friends can complete the tasks set before you.

You might even meet a stormtrooper or two along the way!

The Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game: Champions of the Force Hands-On Demo!

Get ready to battle your friends in an entirely different way! Be among the very first to play The Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game: Champions of the Force prior to its official release-- at Fan Faire!
