So many places are ghost towns. Our guild is sooo quiet these days, just nobody in guildchat. Rare posting from a limited few people on this forum.
This game is a couple of years old now, and I think it's failed to 'hook' the majority of it's players like the old Everquest managed to do. The failing and frustrations outnumbered the good points of playing in Star Wars, and people are moving on to 'rl' or newer and better games.
I don't imaging I will be around too much longer. There are things I want to do, (STILL not master CH) and things I know I will never get around to doing (Jedi Padwan anyone? Gotta be kidding, I don't put in enough hours to do it in a decade).
Maybe it's just me, but I'm losing momentum. Can't be bothered to get a buff and go do anything these days. I'm not putting in the long hours anymore, and you need several hours just to get one thing done - like buff and go get some meat to sell. The targets of things I'd like to do are soo far away and would take up soo many game hours, it just doesn't seem worth the investment. JTL was a brief saving light, but now I'm one mission away from mastering that, it seems they havn't done enough story led things. Just fly in space n shoot stuff. Fun, but limited.
I cannot do a thing but to agree with Zach, the new development is great, but this is already died, everitime I think on logging in Sw, I can just thing, buff, what to do? open your CoH an denjoy your time iwth your firnnds there, the SW ones are no llonger there, and you and the ones that still remain, don't get so much fun anymore... adn I decide to follow that advise, I suppose that it is caused by the fact, that everytimme I've logged it's been deserted, and I've limited myself to answer teh little mail I've been receiving lately, see how the city is working and relog :)
Hope someday, I can change my mind bout this game again, cause I'm so damn big SW freak, that I keep paying my account
I too went through the tedium barrier recently, but I did manage to get past it.
And I did it by just travelling about and looking at things - actually visiting the POI rather than collecting the badge and running - going to the non-badge POI, and even just hanging out in Coro and slicing and chatting.
I also considered trying a new prof, but never needed to in the end.
And now that they have started to roll out new loot etc I'm a little more hopeful that things will pick up.
Then again, I don't spend as much time playing as I used to, and that helps too.
Take a break, take your time. If you want to do Jedi, go for it, but take a note from Ish and don't grind. Do stuff at your own pace and you'd be surprised how quick you pick up xp, and then when the right phase rolls round, head out and do your thing.
I think with the possible move to Amber it'll help as well - more people in the guild, new friends to meet and do stuff with, and hopefully more people will mean more opportunity for organised stuff like corvette, geo and DWB.
That's my hope anyway.
