New PC Opinions

Decided 2 days ago to go ahead and build another gaming rig as this one is slightly "outdated". Wanted to get some opinions on what the new one will be like (performance wise) compared to the old, etc.

Current Specs :
AMD 64 3800+
MSI K8T Neo2 v2.0
2GB (2 x 1GB) OCZ Platinum PC 3200 Dual Channel
BFG 7900 GS OC Edition 256mb AGP
2x160gb Maxtor IDE
450w PSU (stock with case)
Sony DVD-RW IDE
Sony CD-RW IDE

New Specs :
AMD 64 6000+ X2
MSI K9N2G Neo-FD
4GB (2 x 2GB) OCZ SLI-Ready Edition PC2 6400 Dual Channel
BFG 9800 GTX 512mb PCI-E
Western Digital Caviar 500gb SATA
550w BFG SLI / Crossfire Ready PSU
Asus DVD-Rom SATA
Asus DVD+R w/Lightscribe SATA

will defenatly be a step forward.
Not very up to date on the AMD processors since the intel Core's took over. Its a 3GHz right? so should be more then sufficient
Videocard and memory wise your good aswell :D
550W power supply should be enought to keep this system running

So if you can get this for a good price id say go for it. think your old system would run swg good aswell so biggest difference will be in other games/areas

Yeah the 6000+ is dual 3.1ghz (AMD is comp'n me 1). Rest I got at a big discount thru work. Assumed the 550w would be enough with the single card, but since my old PSU was made around 2004 (pre pci-e) I didn't think it would be good for the job.

SWG runs good on this system, but still can't go full eyecandy with it. Was thinking I'd boost performance more for other games and possibly be able to ramp up some settings in SWG as well.

Thanks Martyn smile
