What resolutions are you playing? I presume it is 1280x1024 or 1400x1050/900 and for those resolutions you dont need such a large amount of video memory. Video memory above 512Mb is mainly usefull for resolutions higher then the 2 i mentioned (IMO) So you should probably be able to get a Nvidia 9800 GT based card with 512Mb memory. This card wil most likely perform a bit better then the card you picked (but its always advised to check some benchmarks) If i am correct the Asus EN9800GT TOP/HTDP/512M costs roughly the same and i think it will be performing better for you.
But to best answer the question it would be nice if you could post the native(max resolution) of your tft screen(, or the native resolution of your CRT monitor if you still have 1 of those) and the price you are willing to pay for a card (now i guessed roughly 100 euros)
ps The speed of a graphics card mainly depending on the speed of the processor and the amount of (stream)processors. So keep an eye on the GPU clock speed, the shader speed and the amount of stream processors (the higher the nr. the better :P) before mainly focussing on memory.

Works Fine With SWG, some games could be better but i think thats down to my Proccessor (Intel Pentium Duo 6600 @ 2.4GHz) and at the time card was only £150

Thanks for input my dear friends Native res is 1280x1024 I looked at this one because it seemed a decent mid range card, didn't spot the 1.5gb until after I posted so that's just a bonus really. Not been able to get hold of any reviews for it. I've only got about £100 to play with as I need to bump up on storage and memory too so most good cards are out of my price range. Currently only have 1gb of RAM and running a Pentium 4 @ 3GHz so not the best rig in town at the moment :(

Aaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh Scrub all of that. Looks like we may have to use the money for minor repairs to the car. Mrs just backed into a boulder at the beach. Bugger.
