star wars DESTROYED!!!

furious There is one specific thing that has got me very pissed off..... Star Wars has been totally destroyed by the new clone wars animated series. Nowadays star wars is aimed at youngsters which i really anoying. For example go and ask just about any child thats a clone wars fan. Sure they might know alot about the clone wars but i doubt that they will know much about the original movies..... If you share my rage plz reply.....furiousfuriousfuriousfurious

Star Wars was always aimed at youngsters. Lucas has said as much in the past.
Remember how old you were when it first came out.
No harm in rolling it out to a newer audience IMHO.

It brings star wars to a new generation, meaning it lives on which is good.
Agreed, the format i.e. the cartoons and child like stories aren't neccessarily for me, but they are still canon and if you were to read a novelisation of the cartoons they'd probably be quite good.
EU novels and games has always been my preferred portal into the SW universe so just stick to what suits you best.
Just look at the SW Christmas special! It was made a the same time as original films, using same tech and its totally awful :P

in my opinion the cartoon series isn't bad enough to really destroy anything
but they show us clearly that art and "artificial" isn't necesserely the same...
truly it lags the spirit of poeple that try to shoot a movie whith bloood sweat and tears.
none ever had to move 3po's head by pulling strings as he was mounted to chewbacca's back, here. all this is drawings and computer work..
if this is the only way possible to bring sw to new young generations, well thats what Lucas aims for, DODGAR is right.
sw should be what U make of it! stick to what u like best.

Gotta say that I've purposely not watched any of the animated series. I like my SW the way I remember seeing it on my Dad's cineprojector all those years ago. That then developed through the books etc... but I really feel in my heart of hearts that seeing SW as a cartoon will ruin the franchise for me.

I'm glad they're trying to bring SW to a whole new audience, and I hope the franchise carries on for a long while to come, but I'm happy sticking with the "old school" stuff :)

Some of those novels are amazing aren't they.
The Correllian Trilogy alone could be used to make episodes 7, 8 and 9.
For those not aware of the novels there are sequals, prequals, in between film fillers and allsorts out there.
The Correllian Trilogy deals with the force sensitive offspring of one Princess Leah and one Han Solo.

Corellian Trilogy is really good, isn't it?

For me, the crowning glory of the EU has to be Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy, and then followed by the Thrawn Duology. I'd have loved to have seen them made into films, but can't really see it happening now somehow!
