Ok, you should all know by now where the website is: http://www.geocities.com/kindred_spirits_swg/, but what I need is a bit of constructive criticism/feedback and ideas about what else to do with it. As guildmembers, what do you want to see on it?
I also think we need to get more guildies involved in the forum and webpage - there's still lots of people who don't have bio pages on the site (it's quick enough for me to do, so get submitting!), and lots who don't read these posts regularly. So maybe Alas could send some 'All Guildies' in-game mails to remind them of what's here and that it's here for them!
Obviously, as a non-KS at the moment, I couldn't possibly do any work on it, but by next week I should be ok again
So get writing those bios, select your most flattering screenshot of yourself, send reallife pics in too, and mail them all to kindred_spirits_swg@yahoo.co.uk

A "Squad" is the specific... well... Squad you joing in the rebel fleet. I think there is three different ones, and.. I have absolutely no clue which one I joined.. I´ve forgot.
Yup, each squad has a different 'story' to it, different trainers, operates in different sectors and has different things to kill (pirates, rebels, smugglers, imps etc).
Each squadron also has a badge attached to it - look at your char sheet (if you're master) and under the Profession:Pilot one, it'll say which squad you've done. So when you look at my bio, it says Arkon's Havoc Squadron, Black Epsilon and Inquisition...
Just gives a bit more depth and content really, since the rewards (components/jackets/helmets) are the same within the factions (so I now have 3 TIE flightsuits, 3 boltdriver guns etc etc). So Torv and I are going through all the squads, just for the variety, and so we can say we're REAL master pilots
Lol, because the only ground profession I have unconnected to space is Smuggler and we all know how well that's going...
Also, and don't take this personally as I don't lump any of the guild in with this, but space is the only part of the game that is immune to the bleating of Jedi who want to pwn everything.
It requires actual player skill, you can't afk grind it, and it's damn good fun. Each squad has its own feel and unique characteristics. The missions are well-written, make sense and hang together, so you're not reduced to non-sensical mob mashing from mission terms in order to get xp.
The way the profession skill tree is structured is, in my opinion, a great way to structure ground elite professions - you can't just take one line of something to get ub3r abilities - you need to take whole tiers to progress. This would solve a whole load of problems with people dabbling and abusing abilities from professions, which results in things being nerfed back to the stone age - feign death is a prime example of this.
Plus the way that tier 3 is entirely mission based rather than xp, and each other box has a mission attached that you must complete before progressing is a great way to redirect the progression mechanic away from mindless grinding. How cool would it have been to have had Padawan trial missions instead of having to grind xp? Any profession would benefit enormously from that added content and it would make the journey to master that much more fun.
I find in ground professions that the repetitive, get mission, kill mobs, destroy lair takes the fun out of the journey up the tree. In pilot squads I've enjoyed every single box I've earned.
Plus the depth of mass management and component re'ing means there's so much to do in trying to get ships to work properly. There are a great choice of ships to play with and the each squad presents a different challenge - Imp squads for example are the absolute hardest there are, so big respect to anyone with even 1 mastery there!
Probably why it's about the only thing keeping me playing atm

ROFLMAO no I dont take that personally torvan I cant even kill the BH's that come after me let alon pwn thing's (btw SWG'S was my 1st online game and I still have no clue on what pwn and pwnage mean's completely have rough idea tho but why pwn and not own?)
Anyway personnaly havnt a great love at space mainly coz I suck at it aswell as I do with pvp and BH's but if it keep's you in SWG'S that can only be a good thing
Heh, pwn is one of the many 'crazy' and 'amusing' terms in what is commonly know as 'l33t speak'.
It's what's used by the power-gaming fun and crazy 12-year-olds who can't spell, type or much less even string a coherent sentence together.
Other such favourites are:
n00b - A new player. Derogatory. See what they did there - an amusing use of numerals rather than letters. Ah, how we laugh!
pwn - Own. As in, being better than someone, or being able to beat them. Again derogatory. Noticing a theme? As the 'p' is next to the 'o' on keyboards and their knuckles are usually so big that they find it hard to hit the correct key, we come to 'pwn'.
ftw - Hilarious shorthand for 'For the win'. Usually used by sad flavour of the month (fotm) template builders.
l33t - As in 'elite'. Once again, notice the imaginative use of numerals.
So, putting what we know together, we can use such interesting 'sentences' as:
i pwn u n00b. u suk. im so l33t, j3di ftw!!!!!!!!!!!
Excessive use of exclamation marks is also a must, as is a complete inability to use any other puctuation more esoteric than a full-stop.
Notice also the complete obliviousness to the existence of capital letters.
Now you know what to look out for,
Thank you for your attention
