I've got a friend who only plays this game just enough to pay for his monthly sub :P Maybe in a few weeks I'll give this game an honest try, but it never really captured my attention the past couple times I've used the trial.
No guild (or corporation) yet, but half a dozen KS players working through the starter missions etc. I'm online with pen and law a lot lately, but as we are a different race, were half a galaxy apart at the moment!
There is a KS chat room I assume one of us created that we use for communication, and there is voice chat in game, but so far we have been using martyns teamspeak to staybin touch.
Finished the download late last night, so will begin my trial over the coming days. It seems quite complex and huge, which is a good point for me, but may take some picking up!
My toon is called romizzi and I'm Minmater. Still doing the tutorials but Im getting the hang of it a bit more now, moving around the interface is becoming a little more natural.
Ill use up the 14 days and then if the offer still stands I can get an extra month thanks.

If anyone wants to use the 21 day trial "buddy invite system" you must create a new account from the e-mail that the subscriber sends you. So if you have a trial now you would need to start a new account.
Right now I'm really liking this game and I'll be subbed for at least a month.
OK, we have a corporation in Eve now, Called "Amber Ridge Kindred Spirits' Society" (Kindred Spirits had already gone, but isn't active anymore)
To join, you need to get to the system where the office is based - Tsuguwa III - Moon 10 - Caldari Steel Factory. When docked, look on the right of your screen where available agents usually is. There is a tab marked offices, click here, browse to us and click "Join"
You may be able to join remotely if you can locate us in Corporation (left side of screen buttons, half way down), but not sure what criteria to search for us.
There are only 3 of us in so far (Pen, Law and myself). The corporation doesn't DO anything yet, just exists as a home for us, and we pay lower taxes at the moment (5%) than you currently pay to you NPC corporation you start with (11%) - AND that money goes into our bank, instead of disappearing into the game mechanics.
MEANWHILE - we are using a chat channel that someone setup called "KS". To join, click the chat bubble top right of the chat window, enter KS into the channel name and click join. We also have Corporate chat for those who have signed up (The KS channel is a public one, and anyone can join it. Corp chat is secure)
I'll try to pull a few useful hints/tips and websites together to help new starters soon. Remember, if you want to give EVE a try, PM me your email address and I'll send you a free months trial rather than the 14 day one you can get if you just install the game.
Some little things you may not know to help gameplay.
flying and the UI
You can fly in any direction by left clicking into empty space You can warp to any planets, asteroid fields, moons or stations by right clicking in empty space and selecting them. Also any mission objectives or bookmarks in the system You can configure the Overview window extensively. It is advisable to create several tabs - at least one with everything, one with important stuff only (i.e. enemy ships, stargates, stations etc) only so they are easy to find. To use the tabs, you first need to select the configuration you want (click top left of window, "Open Overview settings"). Once you have configured these as yuo want, "Save Current type selection as" and name it. Then right click on a tab, "add tab" the "load overview profile". If you add/remove items from the overview i.e. by rightclicking an item, it seems to add it to all the tabs, so ensure you hvae the tabs saved as you want them Use different types of ammo for different opponents. Personally I use a longer range ammo where i can, and "stand off" 20km from the enemy (use the "Keep at Range" button on the selected item info view). If I find myself in close range combat, I switch to my more powerful close range ammo and click "Orbit" in the info view window. Ensure to pre-set the range default for these buttons to suit your ship/weapon/ammo setups
Docked tasks and the UI
When docked, agents appear on the right hand side that are at that station or currently in converstaion with you to find more agents for more missions, click on "People and Places" (over on the left), Agents tab then at the bottom "Agent Finder". Filter as desired and find agents in the area yuo want to work for Agents will give better missions the better your standing with them, and their corporation. Try to stick to the same few and build up a rapport/reputation. There are also skills you can learn that give better mission payouts (see my post on web links) When buying stuff, be SURE to check how the price compares to the region average, and whether it's available where you are, or if you will have to travel to collect. I've now changed my settings (last tab in Market) to only show sales in high spec areas, after a bad experience! Same for selling stuff - make sure you are getting a fair price When selling stuff, sell in as much bulk as possible in one go, as there is a tax each time you buy or sell anything. Also if you are selling trade goods to an NPC (don't know anything about this yet) the price will change with each sale, so get them all sold at once before you drive the price down with your supply!
That's enough for now off the top of my head. Next I'll post some useful website links
Hey Zach can I get an invite to the corp please? Also I'm hoping to have a battleship by next week :) If I play often enough I can help other KS through level 1 & 2 missions. I also have an industrial ship for people getting into mining. Right now my schedule doesn't fit the Euro schedule well, but come September I'll be logging in more around 5pm GMT.

My Eve character is called "Nataley" and is quite established now (about 21 million skill points, tech 2 and 3 ships etc) .... feel free to add me and I will try and help out where i can :)
I'm afraid I'm going to have to give EVE a miss. Other half has messed up his finances so I'm having to bail him out (just as I'd sorted mine), and to be honest, there doesn't seem to be enough content for me. It seems that it either consists of doing missions or being a trader. I must admit that the depth of the trading blows SWG away, but I wasn't a trader in SWG :P
I believe there is a lot more content once you advance via combat and money to the bigger ships and start forming fleets and tackling exploration, incursions or some such things. looking forward to finding out about it all at some point. Currently happy learning about ships, modules, rigs etc and pimping out my ships and saving for the next biggest one.

Hope you get your finances in order!

Well, when you get to that point let me know what it's like :)
As for the finances, I'm down over a grand in a fortnight... Not much left..... Going to take me a while to sort it out, unless I can get a job anytime soon.....
