Update Notes 3rd Feb

Update Notes February 3rd

On Friday February 3rd, 2006 at 4:00 AM PDT all U.S. and European galaxies will be taken down for server maintenance and a live update.

When the update is complete, all galaxies will be live but unavailable while we complete the final testing. All galaxies will be made available after that time.

Headlines

With this update, we have added many changes to the user interface which includes the option to re-map your actions and special abilities to any key you wish. You can find a guide for understanding these changes by clicking this link.

Art

* The NPCs NK Necrosis and the NK-3 guards will now have the correct combat animations.

Loot

* When looting corpses that only have credits, the loot message will now correctly reflect that the corpse only had credits to loot.

Profession: Jedi

* Jedi that had ranks in the Force Ranking System (FRS) prior to publish 25 will no longer be automatically flagged as Special Forces.

Profession Respec

* Fixed an issue where respec'd characters sometimes retained the skills from multiple professions.

* Players who have skills from multiple professions will be forcibly respec'd to their current profession and combat level. As your character is respec'd you can lose experience points in the conversion, but never more than 1 level.

Player Associations

* Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause a guild member name to change to "species". It would prevent the guild member from being able to access guild functions.

This change should also fix any guild members who are also having this problem. Please take note of the following:

- Guild members who have had this issue may login and find that they have a strange guild title. If this happens to you, you can use your guild terminal to change the title, or if you don't have permission to change guild titles, you should work with one of your guild members (who has permissions) to correct your title.

- If a guild member has had this "species" issue happen to them and they are not the guild leader, he or she may be moved to the guild's "sponsored list", causing them not be a guild member. If this happens, you should get together with another guild member who has proper permissions so they can make you a guild member again.

* Guild leaders who have lost all of their guild management permissions as a result of having their guild member name changed to "species", they will have their guild management permissions restored when they login.

Space

* Pilots flying Y-8 Mining ships now have a loot inventory box. When you fly a Y-8 and shoot down enemy ships, you will gain space loot rewards.
* Arc170 weapons will now be placed in the correct location on the ship.

User Interface

* The Keymap window tabs in the Options window have been reorganized.

* Inactive items in the Keymap options window have been removed.

* Added a new checkbox option in the Keymap window to enable and disable toolbar button execution on activation (right and left click mouse button attacks).

* If you disable toolbar button activation by disabling the "Attack" and "Interact" actions, you will have to re-assign these actions on your Keymap options window (press-O to open the window).

* Attack and Interact can both be assigned to the same key/button.

* A "Strafe" option has been added to Keymapping called, "Enable strafing with turn keys" (Default On). When this box is checked, the pressing "A" will move your character to strafe left. Pressing "D" will move your character to "strafe" right". If you turn this off, your character will stand in one spot and rotate left by pressing "A" and rotate right by pressing "D".

* When toolbar buttons are activated (either by clicking on them, or pressing their assigned keys) they are assigned to a secondary attack and the second attack is also executed. (Note: equip-able items are not assigned to a secondary attack ever, they are equipped).

* Added a “classic” option in the Keymap options window. If you select this option, everything will work the same as the current default keymap, except the strafing checkbox is “off”.

* Camera transitions between first and third person camera views should be smoother.

* The camera has been re-positioned so that it is easier to see what you are doing inside of a structure or multiplayer ship.

* Improved Third Person camera pivoting.

* Updated the new player tutorial to reflect the new user interface changes.

* Players will no long reload their weapons after being killed in combat.

* Test Center: Clicking the left mouse button will no longer cause an action to activate 2-4 times.

* The level 10 Jedi professions reward, "Gleaming Ring" now correctly displays as a ring in the profession screen.

* The level 90 Officer ability "Deadeye Shot" will display the correct name.

Veteran Rewards

* Profession Restart Kits should no longer be destroyed if you cancel your choice or choose the same profession you currently have.
