Help

hi all :D

I know i've not been around much lately(tbh i got bored a bit, it happens) but it look like every time i log on i see less and less ppl.

now there could be the logical explanation that the games over 4 years old and ppl just moved on, but im stubborn and refuse to believe that.
So what then is the problem ? did everyone get a Social life over the last couple of week ? baby boom  i wasn't informed about?

just kidding :D but the truth of the matter is that it isn't actually fun to be online if its just u and 2 other ppl at any given time.

so if someone has a explanation or any idea's do post em cause i'll like to know.

I'm not going to comment on whos around when I log on as I log on at wierd times.
I still have a char that hasn't finished Legacy.. so theres plenty that I need to be doing, but thats another story.

With my current assignment, I do my best to play during the week. Usually I find time on Saturday and Sundays..

nobody actually answered the question - why is there nobody about in guild chat? YOu need a good dozen ppl about most of the time for the guild to be 'active' and something always happening. With only 6 or 7 active regular players, each with multiple toons with their own things to get on with, you lose the social side of guild life.

I've defintaly seen it lacking since my return - no critizism of any of you out there in guild chat - just a lack of the back ground noise of stuff always going on!

I'm not suggesting we stick a bot in ME crying out to recruit new blood, but maybe its' time the guild had a serious think about active recruitment? How to catch returning 'mature' vets (like myself) into the fold, would be a good plan.

lets open the floodgates and get a discussion of ideas here!

I log in pretty much everyday. Not sure that will last when baby Romizzi arrives :p
Its finding things to do, a reason to log on.
Ok so Ive completed legacy, kashyyyk, mustafar, mastered pilot a few times...
what next?
Well, Waro (and an impending space based chapter!) has inspired me to get my remaining 2 (of my 5) toons to get master pilot, meaning I have a reb, neut and imp pilot.
Staying with space, I'm hunting down some half decent components to beef up my ships.

GCW, yeah the base busts are boring, but its something to work towards with some nice rewards for general etc.

Beast Master is making crafting fun for me again, something a bit differant and slower paced.

But as people have said, its not neccessarily that people dont want to do these things, its just that they dont have time to do them.
I wandered through Mos Krayt yesterday with a tear in my eye at a guild krayt hunting for laughs.

Bottom line for me is that we need to up our numbers, but also provide some kind of incentive for people to join KS in the first place.

I guess we should put ourselves in the shoes of potential guildies..
"Why should I join KS, over other guilds that have larger player bases who do regular activities, roleplay, missions, pvp, etc?"

Answer that and we will be on our way to recruiting the kind of people we want.

Im too busy playing swg to read the forums smile.gif
------
I think rom has a good point.
(I just started a new toon and are doing the legacy all over again. So i will have a look out for new plp Uptill now i have seen only a very few (wich where already being helped by cl90 guilded lads furious))
Tbh i couldnt name many things when plp would ask me ""why should i join KS?"

@Zach I got the feeling that ever since the new combat system the guildchatter is down a lot.  Just because its harder to type and fight nowadays. Dont pay attention for second (happens a lot with me wink) and your incap/dead

Maybe we should put audie in ME to attract new (blue) female Twi'ecks to KS biggrin

Well Gyd is very right it's not the social thing it used to be for many reasons fact that they kept nerfing game people left... ruining the very clever chat system as martyn has already mentioned fact they took away ents n docs how they used to be.... damn even the fact of reducing shuttle times... fact they took away the more complex parts of the game... and biggest fact is KS has been hit by all that and yes you could get new members more n more im sure, but the whole point of KS is Kindred we are a family of people who like to act and be a certain way. we are a more mature guild (tho you may not think it looking at some forum and guildchat tabs at times) but we are a family. And unfortunatly the biggest thing is SWG's is old now people move on to things that excite them more or give them more SWG's is decaying no matter how you look at it with new stuff coming, populations are still decreasing, yes there are bigger guilds but how many of them have a constant number of the same people? look at it more as shopworkers theres a few people who will work in a shop all there life but then theres the majority that jus pass through fleetingly thats what its like for most big guilds. I think the reason that most KS still play or (keep in contact) is the family is KS not the game as much... we all long for the days of just sitting around doing nothing n chatting where life in SWG's wasnt a dumbed down sped up version of what was a very clever social interactive game. But unfourtunatly the family has lost a lot of members and yes we all have obligations so when u log in u find that theres not many on, but thats life in an online game, we are all also spread throught the country n time zone's and all have lifes all getting on at same time can be impossible.

But I will just say this though there isnt many of us left now, just be proud to remember what we had and know we have been going on strong as a family though maybe much smaller family than we used to be just be proud to have known you wore the KS tag! I know I am biggrin.gif

Wow, that sounded like a 'KS is dead' post!

Me Jibb and Ycal werent KS until LXA merged into you. I consider myself to part of that family now (I hope others do too :P )
Why couldn't that happen again?

HEY! I'm back, and I'm not letting anyone else leave, ok?

And the rest of you inactives - get back online now! I have some new toons that need help levelling!

We need to look for like-minded guilds on their last legs (not saying ours is, it's just comfortably small) and some active towns that have failed to develop, and talk business with them.

crap!!!  i better reactivate my acount again

But i agree with Stark and Gyd.  The social thing was a big part of swg. And they removed that in 2 steps CU->NGE. Before the NGE we had hunting groups "socialised" during the hunting. Nowadays its near impossible to chat and do something else then sit.
Plus i think its very hard for new members to get into our "core" yes we can invite them into the guild but its a LOT harder to be really part of the "core", most of the times they are "on the backseat"
Not strange offcourse if you take into account that some plp know each other for 1-3 years. But that also might put plp off. (we have seen quite som plp get in KS and move on) Although some plp prove me wrong (Rom, Jib, Ivan)

oh btw rom your part of the family now smile.gif    You did make a disposit for the family treasure right? wink
