Router trouble ?

hi all.
i got a question.
i use a linksys wrt54G router for our cosy home network, but it has several problems (kinda always did) 1th i have to reset it couple of times a day a bit annoying but u learn to live with it.

Second when i run my internet through the routers i can either A play SWG and browse a bit on the web . if i do more say download i suffer in SWG or it won't load my browser pages.

but when i plug it straight into my computer i can play SWG,Browse, and download (with out suffering in swg).

So i my router not upto the job or broke , should i get a new one ? and if yes what ?

I'm running a D-Link Gamer Lounge. Non-Wireless model. Its able to rout up to 1gb/s wired throughput. I've run up to 2 laptops and 1 pc over it without any trouble. Although not so much intended for internet use so much as for LAN gaming, I still like 1gb/second, even if i'm usually only pulling about 800mbps from my greedy Internet provider.
