Opinions about Character Transfer

I'll follow the majority of the guild, as everyone so far has voted.

Would prefer a European server of a US one.
Would prefer free transfer for all characters
Will stay with the core of KS, wherever and whenever and however they go though.

i dont want to move but if all KS goes in a coordinated way to a other server and i can bring everything (all chars/items/resource/ you name it) ill follow (and i prefer a euro server)

I'd rather stay, but will follow the guild if I can take all of my stuff with me.

I voted for a move to farstar because-

1. All toons move for free, along with all items, resources etc.

2. If we don't move then surely others will, further reducing the pop of Infinity.
I also can't see Infinity being an option to create a new char on after they release this plan, so Infinity can only go downhill.

although im not against moving, it also scares the begeezers out of me thinking about it.

As u know KS moved from DE to AR a move from 5k same planet same server, not saying to didn't go smoothly. But it had some hickups.

No to move to a other server opens alot of new questions and problem.

1.Will everyone go, every single member cause frankly we aint got many member i would like to loose :D.( and if some stay do they carry on KS ? do we disband?

2.Do we start a new town ? or do we look for someplace to co-excist. ( do we scout ahead, What do we do with Amber ? leave it for someone else to find and run off with, or empy its funds let it go bust, sell it ? :P

3. how sure are we it will be better ,on farstar? anyone got a toon there ?

4. when do we need to make a desicion? will this be a open offer or for a limeted time only

5. and does SOE recommand servers to move to ?

Don't think we had house packup when we moved from DE to AR - should be a LOT easier - just place everything in your houses/inventory, pack up the houses to your datapad, and assuming your datapad goes, bang - you transfer. Does all your money go with you? (glances at our in-guild billionaire....)

My opinions to you 5 points:

1. Everyone goes who wants to. Last one out switch out the lights. Maybe once we move our main toons, create a new one each back on Infinity to hold the city in place (never burn your bridges) If some stay, they carry on KS if they want to.

2. Start a new KS on new server, and if we can find a location and a planet with a shuttle slot up for grabs, start a new town. Eager to put my town-planning hat on with a clean slate to work with! (Definately need to scout ahead, leave Amber to anyone who wants to stay. Otherwise, close up shop and move the town buildings across)

3. We need to check out the options of what server to move to

4. We need a 'plan' before the move starts, so we can get in on the first day of the new 'land grab'. Ideally, get a mayor moved across 5 days before the free transfer to setup the town and reserve the slot.

SOE will compile a list of low pop servers, frree CTS will be from those to.. who knows.. I doubt they will let people transfer to servers alreay 'highly' populated.

I guess there will be a list of med pop servers to choose from

That of course will be down to the individule, while i'd like everyone to go of course if we stay I think some will get more frustrated at the lack of people to do stuff with overall on the server

Im in the process of scouting out farstar, I think obviously people want to avoid chim and the people who left infanty to go there, farstar is more populated than infinty but not as populated as chim so others may find comfort in that if there not wanting to be overcrowed'ed!! If we all move then I suppose we clear Amber out no point leaving a ghost town/relic behind

As above in process of checking it out havnt gone far yet, If we all go it will be as good as infinity only diff is we wont have amber ridge more people means more chance to find some more kindred spirits to join our ranks

The free transfers will be open for a limited time but as Pen said too me may be they ofer it again further down the line

Hope they give some kind of indication

As a side note I know theres some who dont use the forums much or at all so is hard to get a bead on what those players feel about this!

Also I think whatever is to be decided and discused happens soon as the more time we have to plan and scout out and prepare the better a move would go, that is assuming a move is desired. I certainly dont want to try and push anyone into something they dont want too do or let my feelings on how things may go down after the free transfers affect decision's as it's just one pov I know other's agree with my pov but some of the ks'ers out there obviously feel that server is ok as is and will still be fine for them after!

i think it will be the end of ks sorry to say so but starding a town on a nother
server its gonne be to hard i think coz most of the pll that play already on that server are living there live in a town already
and groeping whit a nother guild or town hmmm dunno
the pll i know in ks are my friends like almost 4,5 years
so if the most of you guys go il go whit you but i got dubble fielings about it
and are we willing to give the ks fielings in a nonknow hand well i deffently think not but thats youre dicision to make

I agree with Gyd in that yes, it will be hard work. Too hard? No I don't think so, what with the type of people we have in guild/city.

We will probably never find as good a spot for a city as we had with AR - AR will always hold a special place for us anyway- even if we do find a good spot.

And yes it could spell the end to KS.. on Infinity. But I beleive that will happen anyway for the same reasons I mentioned about it being the end of Infinity as a whole server. i.e. no new people.

However if we move, it gives KS a chance to live on.

Its a bit like the CU and NGE. Alot of us survived from back before those times because we were able to change with the game and adapt to the new challenges thrown at us - whereas the people who were stubborn and refused to change, left for wow or whatever.
You can't beat SOE :)
Its only the people who can adapt to SOEs constant changes that survive in this game.

I'm voting of course to go where ever KS goes. Having moved a toon from Chimera to Ahazi, I'm hoping that if we do change servers that we'll get a few more perks (Datapad, Credits, etc) than what you get with a paid transfer.

However, I do not think that this guild will have any trouble finding a new home on another server. We all work very hard, especially together. We may have to adjust our comfort level and get used to living on Dant instead of Tat for instance. But other than the minor things I'm sure we'll be fine.

has anyone started a serious scout for A) somewhere were we can deposit our town possibly temporarily while we start looking for a better site (i.e. somewhere like Lok or Dantooine so we can use our Tatooine buildings still, and not have a cap of 10 shuttle ports on the planet) B) a suitable site, like the original Amber Ridge location on the likely servers we'd move to - or is it too early as we have no idea what servers the choice will be between?

Will it be a case of house packup for everyone and everything into peoples datapads? What about the city buildings, like Cantina, Town Hall, Medic Centre etc. As some are 'dead' (like the theatre) we're going to need replacement buildings to take with us. Will these 'pack up' or need emptying? Should we start making a list of what buildings we need to manufacture and take on our journey?

Any more indication of when this is going to happen, so we can be prepared?

theres no list of servers yet, so we could end up guessing wrong.
All the 'city' structures are still owned by players, so will move with the appropriate person I guess.

i had a look on Tatooine on Farstar, there is a town where Amber would be called ... Aartan ridge.. strangely enough heh :D, there are 9 Player Shuttle Ports, the old location of Dune's Edge seems free and also i belive there is alot of flat land to the East of Wayfar that is currently Unoccupied

seems that most the cities are located at the top and bottom of the map

Also took a Peek at Mos Eisley seems to be much more activity there then currently on Infinity..counting 22 Player dots on my Radar!

I used to be in a strong guild and when the CU hit, they left. I don't think that after all these years this guild is going to die from a little transfer- I know I'll be willing to help keep it going :).

Farstar works well for me personally, just because my brother plays on that server, and it would be fun to PvP and PvE with him. He also always brags about how active his server is compared to mine, and everyone there (at least all the rebs with whom he PvPs) seem to be well-tempered and a fun bunch. I also might get my own account so both my brother and I can play at the same time. But no matter what happens, I'm planning on staying with KS :D.

I'm going to put a Maras or search for a Maras on Farstar to check availability on the name, just in case- would hate to have to change my name :/. If we do decide on Farstar, I can have my brother, or at least his char, help with reserving space, etc.

While I'll miss Infinity, I'm excited to be playing on a heavily populated server- just think, an entire Galaxy constantly packed with players :D.

hello everyone .

i would here by like to invite everyone for a meeting in the AmberRidge Guildhall on sunday the 16th (7:30 will start at 8 no matter who's there or not).

there is only 1 major topic on this meeting and that is the upcoming FTC and the option to move the entire guild to a more populated server.

i am aware that there is no list of servers to or from, and there are still alot of open issues, but i want to adress this now so we can be ready if we decide we do and not miss our window of opportunity.

I totally agree with Rom and what he said about transfer, options ad opportunities. I will move with KS, if we do. Would prefer Farstar or an european server.
I feel the same about AR and our work there, but best will be to remove it if we move, because if you want to survive in a new galaxy, best is to destroy your ships, so nobody has to have regrets.

I am quite sure that KS will be even better if it survives this. If somebody knows latin, he can translate my motto under my mesages: One changes the sky, not his soul, by travelling over the sea. So I am quite sure we will stay the same.

Oh no, please don't let me get involved in a latin translation competition - I was at Arundel Castle last year, testing out my skills on a tomb carving, struggling away (having not done any latin for over 10 years)... got to the end, and the curator pops out from behind a door with the full translation in a big book... at least he complimented me on getting fairly close :)

Anyway, back on topic :) KS has survived a lot over the past few years (PUC even still sort of lives on!), and it's because of the people we are. I've got absolutely no problem moving to another server and planet, and am happy to lend a hand in scouting and layout planning.

Well :P SOE gave the full list of servers who can get the transfer and without any suprises Infinity is inside.....

Moving ! why not but many questions will come in and have to come in the choice of the server !

1) US or European ? for the European players i dont think it should change alot as i think the european server are in the states (SOE logic dont ask why)

2) Ressources quality on the server choosen : you probably know that all the servers have a diffrent quality of ressources ! so are we going to take that in the choice ?

3) The rebuilding of the city(ies) : Again probleme may come with the shutles, because a limitation is set on the amount of shutles by planet (including Lok ! i know by personal experience , we use to have a city phase 5 (shutle is available in phase 4) and impossible to have a shutle because of the planet limitations)

i think the persone in charge of the guild or the city should try to get a GM ans ask if on the planet chosen (on the new server) lots for shutle are available or not .

Well i dont vote beacause i ll add a line who's :

I may want to move but really at the moment i dont know !
