Friday Feature - Quick Tips For Your Next Event

Friday Feature - Quick Tips For Your Next Event - 06/12/2009

Quick Tips For Your Next Event
As many of you know, player created events are some of the most fun and exciting activities in massively multiplayer online games.  Events vary from recruiting drives, weddings, dance parties, swap meets, and more. Players are only limited by their imagination and dedication to a certain feature  of the game that lends itself to event production.
This Friday we wanted to offer you a quick refresher of the tools available to you for creating in-game events.  We know that having a successful event is as important to you as it is to  those attending.

Storyteller Storyteller deeds are in-game resources that you can temporarily place in your city or in the wild areas of planets. The deeds range from decorations such as X-wings and Tie Fighters to Race Droids, creatures you can spawn, as well as costumes for many occasions.
Galaxy Player Event Threads and Schedule - At the top of every galaxy forum is a sticky thread where players can post announcements about their upcoming events
Events Forum - There is a special, moderated, forum just for event discussions, ideas or asking questions.  You can post your event here to get listed in the Player Events Page that SOE hosts.
Another part of event production is promotion.  Many times promotion of events can be managed by sharing and using ideas across the galaxies, two wonderful ways to do this are to participate in the Storyteller Challenge or peruse the Events from the past in the Master Index. If you aren't able get your events started or don't know how to begin, the Event Community is always willing to lend a helping hand and there are many guides available for all new storytellers.
