About time too IMO
I think the final cloaks we get like the cloak of hate and the other one for good Jedi are actually better than armour because of the stats that they offer so wearing armour is really more of a handicap, but nice to be given the choice back.
Never did understand why the wearing of armour was taken away from Jedi. All powerful in the force, but unable to dress themselves!!!!!
LOL.

to my knowlage jedi could never wear armor in SWG cause it wasn't deemed iconic  when launched they stuck pretty close to the time zone, but guess there trowing it all out the window now,

jedi armor being on the last to go, i personally could care less  aslong as they keep it balanced

Sorry Alas I have been given duff information.
I was told that Jedi were able to wear armour prior to a certain game change that is not to be mentioned on pain of death. He must have got it wrong.
LOL.
I love all the kick offs this is causing.
Think I'll still stick to my robes tho for the buffs they give, maybe the odd bit for appearance, it's getting a bit smelly in my blacksun helmet so a new one might be called for.

jedi used to be able to wear armour when they 1st were introduced, then it was changed so they culd, but it hampered thier force bar.
Hence defender jedi with innate armour
then they were allowed to but it screwed thier sabre dps, then they werent allowed to at all

My Jedi in KOTOR wears full mando armour and that was 4000 years ago. He also uses and is pretty decent with a blaster and grenades.

To me it would make more sense to change the profession of "Jedi" (which implies that you are a member of the Jedi Order) into "Force-Sensative". That would solve a lot of issues IMO.

Speaking as an Elder Jedi, Jedi should never have been in game at all imho.
But, make all weapons useable by everyone, and alter the specials / action cost.
The coding exists for flamers vs commandos and non commandos.

If a smuggler wants to use a sabre, let them, just at extortionate action cost and half dps.

From what I can gather the addition of armour to the Jedi class seems to stem from a problem regarding cybernetics and robes not working together as the robes take up the same slots on the arms or something and rather than fix that they have just allowed armour to be worn instead.

The forums are ablaze with this update :)
I love it
See if you can spot any deliberate wind ups in my next comment

Doesn't a certain Darth Vader (a lesser know character in the Star Wars timeline) wear a full bodied armour suit of some description?

Tehe. I have a ladel and I aint afraid to stir with it. Anyone gonna bite?

That aside it's looking more likely to be a lazy SOE team that can't be bothered fixing a bug than a concious choice to allow Jedi to wear armour.
At least now I may be able to survive heroics with some degree of protection as without the major cloak and belt I have no staying on my feet power.
LOL

I've no idea as I've only seen "The Phantom's Menice". I assumed Dark Vader's helm was like that because he was a Mon Cal.
