Scary places to visit in Star Wars Galaxies this season - 10/22/2009

In keeping with the mood of the season, we have compiled a list of places you might like to visit this year. Perhaps it's your first time with Star Wars Galaxies or maybe you have not been to a few of these places in while. We are sure you will enjoy a trip to these amazing locations found throughout the Galaxy.

The Galactic Moon Festival
Jabba the Hutt is throwing the annual Galactic Moon Festival to celebrate the happy haunts of the season. Having grown tired of all the sappy love festivals and celebrations of life, he has taken it upon himself to throw the scariest festival of the year!

Death Troopers
After a mysterious turn of events, the Empire has mustered an enormous military presence in a remote location on Dathomir. Imperial High Command has issued a travel warning notifying citizens to avoid travel to the planet if possible. Citizens that cannot avoid travel to Dathomir should be aware that certain locations are now considered restricted areas. Unauthorized travel to these restricted areas may result in fines, arrest or both. While rumors have circulated that the restricted areas are being used to contain a biological threat, these reports have neither been confirmed nor denied by High Command.

Nightsister Stronghold

A tribe of Dark Side Force wielding Dathomir Witches inhabit this place. They are known for keeping male slaves. Their leader (according to Star Wars Canon) is Gethzerion, found on the second floor of the Nightsister Stronghold.

Axkva Min - Heroic Encounter

Another powerful Nightsister, Axkva Min, is also situated in the Stronghold, deep in the caves beneath the fortress. The entrance to the subterranean area is outside the gate, but as you enter, be aware that Min is under very heavy guard. Slaying her gains the player a Badge.

Walk the Krayt Graveyard at night, alone.

The Graveyard is found in an eerie valley scattered with the skeletons of the mightiest predators of Tatooine: the Krayt Dragons. Huge skeletons fill the valley and fresh corpses are frequently found, as it is rumored that Krayts come to this place to die, as part of a species ritual. Not many people have travelled into the Graveyard and lived to tell the tale.

Visit the ShadowWeave (AKA Webweaver) Caverns

Home of the Outcasts of Kkowir Forest, the vile Webweavers and Mother Ves'ad, these caverns play a major role in the Arena Challenge section of the Kerritamba Village series, leading to the quests related to the Outcasts of the caverns.

Visit the Dead Forest

This is an area of the larger Kkowir Forest, long since fallen to the darkness of Sayormi power. Once as beautiful as the rest of Kashyyyk, the Dead Forest now exists solely as a monument to the destructive tendencies of the Sayormi people.

The Graveyard of Kkowir Forest

A diseased and dying area of the Kashyyyk wilderness infected by the wild Sayormi and their dark energies, the forest slowly succumbs to darkness. The stalwart people of Kerritamba Village fight to protect the land their ancestors cultivated and lived on for generations.

Defeat Lord Cyssc Blackscale

This Quest is very long and very, very dangerous. It will reward you with a badge and the Kashyyyk Medal of Freedom. You begin simply enough, by doing a little hunting for a down-on-his-luck adventurer on the Rryatt Trail. Your quest will take you deep into the Trails, into several space systems, into one of the least visited and most dangerous instanced dungeons in the game, making you a central participant in an epic and deadly space battle.

Spider Hunter Cave
While one would think that this is a great place to hunt spiders (and it is), if you don't have a high enough combat level, the arachnids in this cave will more than likely be hunting you.

The Myyydril Caverns

Myyydril Caverns is the home of the Myyydril Tribe, a band of Wookiees outcast by the Kerritamba people many years ago. Horrors lurk in the dark caverns and can only be uncovered by the bravest of adventurers. The insane laughter of a demented doctor is often heard echoing in the halls.

The Burning Plains

The surface crust of the Burning Plains is especially thin, allowing lava to nearly bubble through the surface. Most experts agree that if the area suffers a big enough earthquake, the entire plain will become a sea of lava. The Burning Plains are at the north-most point of Mustafar. Blistomoks and other Mustafarian creatures can be found here.

Temple Ruins and rumors of the Storm Lord

The air shimmers and ripples as heat from the lava flows by the ancient temple. Stand at the bottom of the hill and catch your breath, or as much of a breath as you can take standing on the edge of a lava field. The Ancient Jedi Temple Ruins are a haunting sight

Cave of the Sher Kar

This cave beneath the Tulrus Nesting Grounds is home to a species of massive, scorpion-like creatures. The cave allows the Sher Kar to easily locate its favored prey. Mustafarian legends claimed that no one who entered a Sher Kar's lair returned alive.

The Warren

This top secret Imperial experiment facility is run by Boris Teraud. As of late even the Empire has begun to wonder what exactly has been going on in this mysterious facility. An Inquisitor was dispatched to investigate the situation but has not reported back. Now strange cybernetic life forms have been seen in the general area of the Warren and workers have been desperately trying to escape this vile place, and tell stories of the horrors that await the unsuspecting.

Massassi Isle

Once you arrive at the mining outpost on Yavin 4, you will have a bit of a trek ahead of you. Make your way through the dense jungle of the moon until you arrive at the Great Massassi Temple (-3100 -3030). This temple, now abandoned, served as the Rebel base during the Battle of Yavin. Under the command of General Jan Dodonna, the temple provided shelter for the Rebels and their starfighters. The Empire has since taken over the base.
