Dont be a hero

it just screw you over!

I spent today sitting indoor and watching the ****e weather thinking to myself how lucky I was I wasnt out in it.
The kids were 'stuck' at my inlaws, but that was ok, no real hardship, plenty of things to do there and no issues.

Phone rings.. Inlaws have just had power cut so kids are stranded there with no heating etc. etc.
I get in my car and working out a 'safe' route to get to thier house set off at a careful pace, all ok, pleanty of cars abandoned at the side of the road but my little fiesta is fighting on through the waether.
I get to the stepp hill by thier house.. steadyily up to the top, no real issues other than a bit of wheel spin, then on the really really small slope just outside thier house I slide like a fool into a drift and get stuck, some 150m away from thier house.
I walk into the front door laden with shovel, sleeping bags, food etc etc and as I walk in thier ****ing power comes back on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Father in law then drives me and the girls home in his big heavy diesel van leaving me here at home, with the family but with my car the other side of the county and stranded in a snow drift.

Moral.. dont be a hero!!

bleeding typical!!

The real moral of that story Jib is ... Fu@K the kids, let them freeze. Be glad of the peace and quiet.

spent the late morning digging out the car and driving it to the top of the hill by putting sheets under the wheels, like the Egyptians used rolling logs to move big stones.
Just about to have lunch and then try to drive home.
