Galactic Civil War

The score has really been going back and forth. The Imperials pulled ahead in mid-May but the Rebels came back strong and currently have the lead. Well keep watching the score. Good luck to both sides.

We have two new changes coming out for the GCW. The first change will be ground Factional Presence scaling. We heard the complaint regarding gaining FP when you were not at risk. To prevent this, the amount of FP you gain will scale relative to the FP eligible players of either faction around you. The second change will be for player placed GCW bases. Were working on tying player placed GCW bases into the GCW scoring system. Stay tuned for more details.

Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back 30^th Anniversary Event

The event was a blast. How about those awesome load screens and the cool loot! That was some amazing artwork. Well continue to look for opportunities to add more artwork to the game.

 As you all know, the final gift was the Holocron of Destiny. So which path did most of you choose? The winner is,

BONUS EVERYTHING WEEKEND

The bonus weekend was a great success. We had a lot of folks in the game at the same time on Thursday, and more on Friday, and even more on Saturday, and even more on Sunday, and EVEN MORE ON MONDAY. Wow! You know when to take advantage of a good opportunity. We cant wait to do it again. Did you get a Sail Barge yet? Well what are you waiting for? As of June 3^rd, there have been 568 purchased. Nice. Im still working on getting one and its selling for crazy credits right now.

No Trade is No Fun

This is coming along great. Were seeing an increase in commerce activity on the forums. Anyone find any good deals yet? Keep an eye on this post for the updated list of items that have NO TRADE removed.

We also added the ability to remove NO TRADE from existing items. Thanks to everyone for offering suggestions on how to do this correctly. With great feedback like that, we cant help but keep asking for more. Also, keep recommending items to add to the list.

Profession Update

It was the Beast Masters turn. They got some expertise adjustments, fixes, and we threw in some new surprises for them too. Hang in there; you are getting close on some very cool new discoveries. We also hope you are having fun with the Shock Collar from the Undead Rancor.

Empire Day 2010

Were coming up on Empire Day 2010. This year youll be able to run the quests again and were adding another set of collections. Oh and there will be a new badge too. Were also adding some new rewards to the Empire Day vendor.

Star Wars Galaxies 7^th Year Anniversary

Wow 7 years - time to party. On June 26^th, 2010 Star Wars Galaxies will be 7 years old. Well be doing a special in-game celebration for this amazing milestone. Were still finalizing the details but were planning to do a new collection for the event. There will be login gifts (ok no costumes this time! Ok well maybe there will be a costume but it will be a cool one, and there will be lots of other stuff too). We heard some complaints regarding not getting a chance to log in for a week and missing out. Well everything we give will be tradable. The gifts will also be added to the game as loot or for sale. That way folks that miss logging in a week or folks who come late, can still enjoy the celebration and not miss out.

That would make a great house decoration!

I was recently poking around the internal SWG file archive and found some pre-release screenshots from the game. Since we are coming up on the 7 year birthday, I figured this would be a great time to share. These are a few early unreleased screens (ok they are released screens now).
