Augmenting relics, implants and earpieces


So, I am almost fully augmented now, aside from these 5 pieces.

The bad thing about these 5 is, unlike modded armor, you can't just switch out mods once you get better. There's only the item.
So how do you guys do this? Just keep augmenting when you get an upgrade? Or wait for the BiS before putting on the mod?

If the latest what would be the best for Shadows atm for those slots? I'm sure I don't got it though...

 

Just looking for some advices for augmenting those slots and how you guys handle it, since they're different from the other item slots.

Personally, I augmented all of those from 69 up when I got them, as I can make the kits, so it was just a case of swapping the augment and using a new kit as and when I got an upgrade.

That was before the 78 gear was out though, and with verpine now available through elite comms, I would probably only augment from 72 up, except for relics, which are still only available as drops at 72, so would still augment arkanian untill i got the underworld ones.

I augment all those items straight away, unless i know that i will be able to buy a new one in a short time.
Its only 120k (85k for the augment kit and 36k for attaching plus a bit for swapping the augs) Thats the dailies of 2-3 areas so i can get that back in 1 evening

For the question about shadow i am not sure, i dont have a shadow myself, but my guess would be a mix of willpower, accuracy crit and surge. depending on the stats you have. Willpower for sure the rest only if you have to compensate a bit to get enough crit chance/damage or accuracy

Makes sense. I've bought a few augment kits, so will prob do so after wednesday's op, hopefully gaining an earpiece or from ultimates.

As for the implants, it seems the Verpine and Oricon are pretty oddly statistic-wise. Half is discarded for having alacricity, and oddly the only accuracy is PvP. Or was, haven't checked since 2.4 (got conquisitor). So I guess have to do some more PvP.

i personally only augment items above 162 rating, as i useally have them awile. same for relics and implants, heck ive been so unlucky on relics drop i still use my passive matrix cube on Alas.

Heh, I got my 2 passive PvP relics on Jaellan you got for lvl 50 before the Tionese and Recruit gears got scrapped.

I wish there were more passive relics in the game, instead of them actually removing those already in :/

the matrix cube i use is still in the game, you just need to collect all the shards.

Yeah, got all the shards, but all cubes are worse than those (used-to-be-)free relics :/

you can have accuracy on an other armor piece. You don't need necessarily on the implant. the devs did say that the stats of sets are a bit mixed to encourage players to swap around mods.

an arcanian relic or dreadguard should be better than matrix cube. I have no knowledge on shadows though to suggest something.

Reading it now (with a bit more ingame data on my relics) and it's definitely for Infilitration Shadows... I'm a Balance Shadow. Relics section should work though (and I currently have one +power and one proc power).

As for implants, there are 3 from the supply vendors. One is for tanks, discarded. Other is accuracy/alacricity, discarded. Leaves me with accuracy/critical, of which I have the Oricon version now, ready for augmentation when my crafter made it :). PvP has a much better selection, of which I chose the acc/power to be my second implant. Sadly, due to a bug, I can't upgrade my Conqueror to Obroan just yet, and thus will not augment yet, since I got all the requirements, I just hope they fix it soon for replacement.

As for earpiece, again there's 2 "wasted" options from the Ultimate Comm vendor, and the Oricon piece left has Crit and Surge instead of Power. Rather want the Underworld version then (Or better. Got Arkanian now, which does have power/surge), not too keen of the idea of giving up all my power for crit, but I can do it until a drop if I have no ultimate comms left to spend on other items. Doesn't seem the case so far fortunately :)
