5.1 speakers

Hello hello

My current creative labs 5.1 set up has gone pop. Anyone got any recommendations of what to buy next?

Think I'm going to go for the Creative labs Inspire T6300.

Those seem like a good setup.

My only other suggestion would be to check out the Logitech alternatives before you buy.

By my recent experience with the G600, I think Logitech has the best customer support/replacement system out there.

I remember having logitech speakers before. Not sure I was overly impressed. My last creative system was the A550? I think. Bought it 4 years ago so I guess it's done well?.

Besides I got a creative x-fi fatality (I think) so might work better with creative gear?

Na, the sound card doesn't need to exactly match the speaker brand for a better sound. That has no bearing on the sound quality. I use a Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS Gamer Sound card w/ Logitech PC speakers and the Logitech's sound much better than the set of Boston Acoustics I had before them (at 1/3 rd the price of the BA set).

The only difference in the sound will be the voicing of the speakers themselves. Each company tends to have a different "tone" to their speakers due to the frequency voicing they give each model.

So 2 sets of speakers (by different companies) on the same system would tend to sound slightly different.

If you can, I'd go to a brick & mortar store and listen to the Creative & Logitech 5.1 systems on the same or similar store PC and just go with which sounds the best to you.

I'd also take in to consideration the warranty - Creative Speakers have a 1 year warranty where Logitech has a 2 year warranty.
