server merges went as well as they could go. everyone lost their settings and its acting like we are on a new server, which we are. i managed to set up all of my characters again without having to log in by renaming the old configs.
steps:
open windows explorer and navigate to %localappdata%\SWTOR\swtor\settings
!!! BACK UP THE FILES IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG !!!
there will be files like he6124_PlayerName_PlayerGUIState.ini and he6124_PlayerName_LocalSocialSettings.ini (if you have people on your friends list with with notes)
rename he[number] to he4000 for all characters on Darth Malgus and you're good to go without having to set up your character from scratch.
to copy settings across characters, you can also copy/paste the contents of one file to another and it should work with minimal fuss, just make sure you set up your group finder preferences again if you're copying a tank config to a dps and so on.
below is a list of old server and new server ids that i was able to pull up from my own files. if you have any more, leave a reply or pm me with new ids and i'll update the post. :)
old server id references:
he6124 - The Red Eclipse
he6131 - The Progenitor
he6122 - Tomb of Freedon Nadd
new server id references:
he4000 - Darth Malgus
