Dreadtooth spawns and roam around on Belsavis Section X area. Quickest way is to purchase the legacy perk for Black Hole daily area and then click on the shuttle to head to Section X. Generally you can find him in an open area on the NW side of the map (i.e. Crumbling Wall section of the map).
1.2 Respawn
Dreadtooth respawns 30 minutes after death.
1.3 Difficulty
Difficulty is dependent on the stacks of Dreadful Resurgence Dreadtooth has. 1-2 stacks are designed for 8m, 3-4 stacks designed for 16m. At this point it is unknown what setup is needed to kill Dreadtooth at 5 stacks as players have reported that he soft enrages immediately on pull.
1.4 Dreadful Resurgence
The stacks of Dreadful Resurgence can be increased by killing Dreadtooth (each kill seems to increase his stacks by one unless there are no players around, then he seems to drop back down to one). Additionally, Dreadtooth will drop 1x
Dreadful Essence when killed that can be used on Dreadtooth to increase his stacks by one per use (not sure if the item is consumed upon usage).
1.5 Health
Dreadtooth has 2.3 million HP at 1-2 stacks.
1.6 Proximity buff
Players close to Dreadtooth will receive a buff called Drouk Hunter (lasts 8ms?). If players move away from Dreadtooth and get ouf of combat, they will receive an Out of Combat buff (3 mins) that says You will lose Drouk Hunter if you return to medcenter, remain out of combat for too long, or if you re-engage Dreadooth at full health.
1.7 Loot
At 1-2 stacks, Dreadtooth will drop 1x Black Hole piece (random), 1x
The following video is of Dreadtooth at 2 stacks. We had 2x tanks, 2x healers, and 7 DPS.
Sorc healer PoV
2.2 Damage Output & Positioning
This fight is a bit healing intensive and at higher stacks will become a healer check due to the amount of AoE raid damage. In addition, proper positioning of Dreadtooth (i.e. tank against a wall) is essential as Dreadooth will toss tanks miles away with one of his abilities otherwise. Dreadtooth also cleaves so no one should be standing in front of him except for the tank.
1-2 stacks can be done with 1 tank and 2 healers but 3-4 stacks may required 2 tanks.
2.3 Abilities directed at tanks
Sonic Paralysis:5 second channel that slows the tank and then toss the tank at the end of the channel (position yourself in front of a wall). Tank will also lose threat at end of the channel and need to taunt him back immediately. On 3-4 stacks a tank swap here maybe necessary.
Rock Heave: Deals quite a lot of damage (at least 10k) but entirely avoidable (run out from the red circle)
2.4 Abilities directed at raid
Rock Toss: 4k damage directed at mostly ranged characters. In addition, the player that got hit will also receive a cleansable Bleeding DoT that hits for 219 damage every second. This ability doesnt have a castbar but does have an animation.
Smash: Proximity based AoE, deals around 4k damage and knock players up into the air. No castbar but similar animation to Smash on Zorn & Toth in Explosive Conflict (Dreadtooth jumps up and lands).
Ground Spike: Two varieties seem to exist. One of them is a kinetic attack dealing 12.5k damage and can be avoided (red circle on ground). The other one is a elemental attack dealing 4k attack and does not seem to be avoidable. The elemental attack will also apply Bleeding (219 damage per second) that can be cleansed. Ground Spike (kinetic version) seem to be used as a method of soft enrage as there appears to be a lot more circles near the end of the fight.
Shriek: Raid wide AoE damage that lasts for 6 seconds and deals around 1.1k damage per second. Usually comes after a Sonic Paralysis on the tank.
2.5 Fight Strategy
Tanks: Have tank positioned in front of a wall or an object so that he/she cannot be knocked back after Sonic Paralysis. Remember to either tank swap or taunt immediately after Sonic Paralysis and avoid Rock Heave.
DPS: If you have sage/sorc healers, most of the DPS can stay stacked up behind Dreadtooth and get healed up through the AoE bubble heal. Ranged DPS will eat a bit more Rock Toss while melee DPS will eat more Smash.Avoid red circles on the ground (Ground Spike).
Healers: Shriek and Smash are two abilities that deals a lot of damage on the raid and require a bit of AoE healing to top everyone off. Sorc/sage bubble shields can absorb most damage of the shriek and smash. Avoid Ground Spike.
2.6 Damage summary
There appears to be no difference in damage output between 1 and 2 stacks
